Norwich City have today completed the signing of striker Gary Hooper from Celtic. As I posted yesterday, the 25-year-old underwent a medical with the club and today agreed personal terms. The fee is believed to be around £5.5million, some of which will go to my home town team Scunthorpe United, as part of their original deal back in 2010 with Celtic.
After constantly being ignored by England manager, Roy Hodgson, Hooper will be hoping that playing in the Premier League will boost his international chances. In my opinion if Hooper’s scoring record is as strong in the Premier League as it has been in the past, it will be hard for the England manager to ignore him further.
After seeing his career take off here in Scunthorpe, I can only wish him the best in the Premiership and I hope to see him in an England shirt very soon.
Comment below your opinions on Gary Hooper and his season ahead.
