2013 British Touring Car Champion, Andrew Jordan, has announced that he will be lining up on the grid this season for the Triple Eight MG team.
The announcement was made at the Autosport show in Birmingham earlier on today, and it was certainly big news as it even led to #BTCC trending on Twitter.
Jordan, who is backed by Red Bull, joins MG following his departure from his own family-run Eurotech Racing team and has also brought his Pirtek sponsorship with him to Triple Eight.
The 2014 season was one to forget for Jordan, as he was unable to compete for race wins and podiums with the MGs, Yuasa Racing Hondas and WSR BMWs.
The 25-year-old has been with Triple Eight team in the past, during the 2009 season when they were running the highly successful Vauxhall Vectra cars.
Jordan has signed a one-year-deal with the team who were crowned Manufactures Champions in 2014 and is the official replacement for Jason Plato.
It is not yet known where the hugely experienced Plato will be for the 2015 season but there are more big announcements expected to be made tomorrow at the Autosport Show.
Plato’s departure means that Triple Eight lost most of their sponsors, including Tesco Clubcard, but if you ask me the new Pirtek Livery looks amazing on the MG.
