Colin Turkington is the 2014 British Touring Car Champion

Wheels And Goals would like to congratulate Colin Turkington after he won his second drivers championship in the BTCC.

The Scot was confirmed as the champion following his second place finish in Race 1 at Brands Hatch yesterday.

The 32-year-old ended up winning the championship by 33 points, with veteran driver, Jason Plato, ending the year as the runner-up.

Elsewhere on the final race meeting of the year, the MG KX Clubcard Fuel Save team won the manufacturers championship and Adam Morgan made history as he became the first ever driver to win a touring car race in a Mercedes-Benz.

Turkington’s success yesterday means that he has won the title twice out of the last three seasons in-which he has been in the BTCC.
