The new Premier League season gets underway this Saturday and the anticipation is building.
After one of the most entertaining seasons in recent years last time round, fans across the country are hoping for more of the same this upcoming season.
Many are expecting the reigning champions, Manchester City, to be fighting to the title once again, with Chelsea as their main rivals.
Chelsea have made some good signings in the summer, with the likes of Cesc Fabregas and Diego Costa joining. Chelsea were desperate for a striker last season and Costa could be the player that brings the title back to Stamford Bridge.
Fabregas also has plenty of Premier League experience and should therefore hit the ground running this weekend. He also scores plenty of goals from midfield.
Chelsea will also be hard to score against now that they have Thibaut Courtois between the posts. The Belgian was outstanding for Atletico Madrid last season and is one of the best young goalkeepers in the world.
I my own personal opinion I think that Chelsea will be the team that pip City to the title this season.
City have brought in a couple of players and, as always, their squad will be able to cope with the demands of competing in all four competitions. It will be second place for them this time round though.
Behind the top two I expect Arsenal and Manchester United to fill the remaining Champions League positions.
Arsenal have bought a world-class player in Alexis Sanchez and will be a much improved team compared to last season. Sanchez and Mesut Ozil will be able to produce some great attacking movements.
Once Theo Walcott returns to the squad, Arsenal’s attack will be full of pace and I think that they will score plenty of goals.
As for Man United, Louis Van Gaal has brought some stability to the team. Last season was a complete disaster but it can only get better this time round.
Van Gaal will make sure he has complete control over the dressing room and he has already started to sell the less impressive players. He will still need to make a few more signings before the transfer window closes though.
Expect Liverpool, Everton and Tottenham to be pushing the top four once again. I predict that Everton will finish above Liverpool this time round in fifth place.
So they were my predictions for the new Premier League season but what are yours? Take the poll below and tell me who you think will become champions next May!!
