WWE Battleground Predictions Part 2

Welcome to part two of my predictions for this weekend’s WWE Battleground Pay-Per-View.

Yesterday I looked at the WWE World Heavyweight Title match and also the match that I am most looking forward to, which was Dean Ambrose Vs Seth Rollins.

Today I will look at the two other matches that have caught my eye: Chris Jericho Vs Bray Wyatt and The Usos Vs Luke Harper and Erick Rowan.

Chris Jericho Vs Bray Wyatt
This rivalry came out of nowhere after the surprise returns on Jericho and The Mix a couple of weeks ago. It is still relatively unclear why Wyatt has targeted Y2J, but nevertheless working with an experienced wrestler like Jericho will only help increase Wyatt’s reputation. We have seen the typical mind games being played by Wyatt in the weeks leading up the battleground, along with the common 3-on-1 attacks from the Wyatt Family on Jericho. It is tough for me to try and predict who will come out on top tomorrow night.

It all depends on whether or not WWE are planning on extending this rivalry up until SummerSlam. If this is the case, I would expect Jericho to defeat Wyatt at Battleground  before going on to lose at SummerSlam. Earning a victory over a legend like Jericho at one of the top four PPVs will give Wyatt’s career a real boost in the right direction and I think that this is the way WWE should go with this storyline.

Winner: Chris Jericho

WWE Tag-Team Title, Best out of three falls match: The Usos Vs Luke Harper & Erick Rowan
We have seen some great matches between these two tag teams over the past couple of months and it looks although this battle will come to an end tomorrow night. The best out of three falls stipulation is an odd edition to the match in my honest opinion but it should allow the teams to have a longer, and therefore better, match. The Usos have been good tag-team champions but I can’t help but feel that it is time for the titles to change hands.

Rowan and Harper, having lost at the Money in the Bank PPV, now deserve their chance to be the champions. The pair are both big and destructive wrestlers who have tormented The Usos in the past couple of weeks. Both are improving in the ring and it has been noticeable that much like their leader, fans are beginning to cheer for them. It has been a very long time since we have seen such a destructive duo as tag-team champions and it would be a refreshing change. It would also allow Goldust and Stardust the chance to get back into the title picture, which lets face it can only be a good thing.

Winners: Luke Harper & Erick Rowan

Other match winners
Intercontinental Battle Royal – Bo Dallas
Divas Title – AJ Lee
Jack Swagger Vs Rusev – Rusev
Naomi Vs Cameron – Naomi

The Wyatt vs Jericho match was out of nowhere, but it should help to keep Wyatt’s momentum going. Y2J will probably put him over. Good article!

Thanks mate. It was certainly a surprise but like you say, working with somebody like Jericho is only going to help boost the reputation and career of Bray Wyatt.
