Transfer Update – Tottenham complete signing of Eriksen

Tottenham have tonight completed the signing of Ajax midfielder, Christian Eriksen.

The fee agreed by the two clubs was £11.5million, taking Tottenham’s summer spending spree past the £100million mark.

Erikson is Spurs’ third signing of the day, joining Vlad Chiriches, 23, and Erik Lamela, 21, at White Hart Lane – as previously reported.

The highly-rated Dutchman made 161 appearances for Ajax since joining them in 2008, scoring 32 goals in the process. Along with this, Christian has been capped 37 times by his home-country of Holland.

This excessive spending spree is in preperation for the iminant departure of the club’s star player, Gareth Bale.

Spurs have made a stack of signings this season.

    Its quite exciting.

Soldado, as his name suggests, looks a solid player, who is always going to bag some goals, so there’s no fear of Tottenham going down!

But whether all the new players will be able to fulfil their potential, and create the synergies that are needed to create a title winning side, only time will tell.

It could all end up being a big disappointment this season. It may be that AVB needs a season, to sew all his new sequins together.

It’s good to see that the club are preparing well for life after Gareth Bale. They have done their business in the right way, rather than selling Bale first and then panicking and signing anybody.

Spurs look good for a top four finish this season in my opinion…. that’s if their new players can gel together quickly!!
