Arsenal’s injury crisis has increased this morning, with the news that Lukas Podolski has been ruled out for 10 weeks.
The German limped off during Arsenal’s Champions League qualifier against Fenerbahce and it has now been confirmed that he has suffered a hamstring injury.
Podolski joins the likes of Mikel Arteta, Thomas Vermaelen and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlin on the injury list at Arsenal.
All of these injures, plus the fact that Arsenal have let 17 players leave over the summer, means that their squad is seriously thin compared to all of their Premier League rivals.
The only recognised striker left in the squad is Frenchman, Olivier Giroud.
There was already a need for Arsenal to sign some new players before the transfer market closes, but Arsenal fans will now be even more desperate for their team to spend the money.
Arsenal’s next game is the North-London derby against Tottenham, who have been very active in the transfer market.
If Arsenal don’t make some signings before this huge game, I think that they could be in big trouble come sunday afternoon.
