Football League Results – League Two

Oxford United made it two wins out of two in League Two today, with a 2-1 victory over Bury. Fleetwood Town and Chesterfield also kept their 100% records this season with wins over Plymouth and Cheltenham.

Southend are the fourth and last team in the division to have won both of their games so far, with todays victory at Hartlepool leaving them in 4th place in the league. Freddie Eastwood’s goal after five minutes was all the Shrimpers needed for the victory, despite playing all of the second half with 10-men. Barry Corr was the villain, with a foul on Jack Baldwin just before half-time leading to his dismissal.

As for my home team, Scunthorpe United,  we are still unbeaten and yet to concede a goal this season. A 0-0 draw away at Bristol Rovers leaves the Iron in 5th position in the league. Scunthorpe were unlucky not to win the game today, with Sam Winnall and Terry Hawkright both hitting the woodwork in the first half.

Elsewhere, Accrington Stanley and Portsmouth played out a 2-2 draw, giving both sides their first point of the season.
