Welcome to Wheels & Goals – Transfer opinions

Hi everybody and welcome to the first post of Wheels & Goals….. the place to visit for all the latest on football and the world of motor sport.

Cesc Fabregas(I’m new to this whole blogging world, so bare with me!)

With the Football season only weeks away, the transfer market should be about to get very interesting. It seems there are many big transfers waiting to happen, with clubs waiting for that one trigger transfer to get the ball rolling!

The transfers in question include: Bale, Rooney, Suarez, Ronaldo and Fabregas!

Now as a Man United fan, I’m very excited about the prospect of these rumours becoming a reality. Personally, I think it is time for Rooney to move on. He is obviously not happy at the club (2 transfer requests in 3 years) and to be honest, I think he has lost his quality (along with his hair!) and his overall fitness is a worry – I can’t exactly see him doing a Ryan Giggs in 10 years time…

With Rooney out the way, that leaves the door wide open for Gareth Bale. I think it is a more realistic option than Ronaldo, who in my opinion will stay at Madrid. Bale would be a great sign of intent from David Moyes, who will be worried after Manchester City have already spent big this summer.

Gareth Bale

United & Madrid are expected to make offers for Tottenham striker, Gareth Bale

As for Fabregas, it seems strange to me why he constantly says he is happy at Barcelona. He is behind the likes of Xavi and Iniesta in the pecking order and doesn’t get much game time. For the sake of his International career I think he has to move back to the Premiership, whether that be at United or even Arsenal.

Speaking of Arsenal, they have just had another bid turned down by Liverpool for Luis Suarez. For the first time in their history, it seems that Arsenal are going all out and trying to spend big. For me I wouldn’t go much higher than the £40million that they have offered for Suarez….. Don’t get me wrong he is a great player but spends most of his time on the sidelines, serving suspensions and gnawing on other players – Arsenal players, beware!
